๐‰๐ž๐š๐ง ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข is a long-time veteran in the electronic music scene from ๐ท๐‘’๐‘›๐‘š๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘˜.

He started off his career in 1993 as a DJ, and released his first single as part of the group ๐’๐ก๐ž๐ฒ๐›๐š (with ๐พ๐‘Ÿ๐‘–๐‘ ๐‘ก๐‘–๐‘Ž๐‘› ๐‘‡โ„Ž๐‘–๐‘›๐‘›๐‘–๐‘›๐‘” ๐ด๐‘›๐‘‘๐‘’๐‘Ÿ๐‘ ๐‘’๐‘› aka ๐ธ๐‘™๐‘ฆ๐‘ ๐‘–๐‘ข๐‘š).

In 1996 ๐‰๐ž๐š๐ง ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข formed the project ๐Ž๐‘๐ˆ๐Ž๐.

๐Ž๐‘๐ˆ๐Ž๐ was first a ๐ฝ๐‘’๐‘Ž๐‘› ๐ต๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ๐‘’๐‘™๐‘™๐‘– & ๐ท๐‘’๐‘›๐‘›๐‘–๐‘  ๐ฝ๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘ ๐‘’๐‘› project, but ๐ท๐‘’๐‘›๐‘›๐‘–๐‘  ๐ฝ๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘ ๐‘’๐‘› was quickly replaced with ๐‘€๐‘–๐‘›๐‘œ ๐‘‰๐‘Ž๐‘˜๐‘›๐‘–๐‘› for the album "๐‘ญ๐’–๐’•๐’–๐’“๐’Š๐’”๐’•๐’Š๐’„ ๐‘ท๐’๐’†๐’•๐’“๐’š" (released in 1997 by ๐‘†๐‘ฆ๐‘š๐‘๐‘–๐‘œ๐‘ ๐‘–๐‘  ๐‘…๐‘’๐‘๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ๐‘‘๐‘ ). After that album and until now ๐Ž๐‘๐ˆ๐Ž๐ is a ๐‰๐ž๐š๐ง ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข solo project.

๐‰๐ž๐š๐ง ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข has been touring world wide for more than 26 years, performing at the biggest and funkiest trance parties and festivals almost everywhere on the Globe.

With a 6 years break to focus on other aspects in life, ๐Ž๐‘๐ˆ๐Ž๐ returned in 2014 with a refreshed style, while retaining the dark progressive minimalistic vibes of his music. ๐‰๐ž๐š๐ง ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข is still a common name on lineups at parties and festivals around the globe.

DJ PHOENIX is ๐‘๐จ๐›๐ž๐ซ๐ญ ๐‰๐š๐ซ๐ง๐ซ๐จ๐ญ๐ก, born and raised in ๐‘†๐‘ก๐‘œ๐‘๐‘˜โ„Ž๐‘œ๐‘™๐‘š, ๐‘†๐‘ค๐‘’๐‘‘๐‘’๐‘› in 1973.

๐‘๐จ๐›๐ž๐ซ๐ญ started DJโ€™ing at the age of 14. At the age of 17, while working in a records store, he found acid-house and electronic music and never looked back. He signed his first contract (with ๐‘†๐‘ก๐‘œ๐‘๐‘˜โ„Ž๐‘œ๐‘™๐‘š ๐‘…๐‘’๐‘๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ๐‘‘๐‘ ) at 18 and released 1 track under the name โ€œ๐Œ๐š๐ง๐œ๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐โ€. When he was 19 he started working at a record distribution company as a sales rep and started importing electronic music to Sweden, mainly from Europe. Thru that import he found Goa Trance and immediately fell in love with it and knew that it could become BIG.

At that time ๐‘๐จ๐›๐ž๐ซ๐ญ and his partners also had their own label called ๐‘Šโ„Ž๐‘ฆ ๐‘๐‘œ๐‘ก ๐‘…๐‘’๐‘๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ๐‘‘๐‘  and thatโ€™s where they decided to start releasing the now infamous, โ€œ๐‘ซ๐’†๐’”๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’‚๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’ ๐‘ฎ๐’๐’‚โ€ series. First one was a HUGE success all over Scandinavia and the rest of the world. When they released the second chapter, it hit no. 5 in the album charts in Sweden! From there, it just kept going and growingโ€ฆ

In 1998 at itโ€™s peak ๐‘๐จ๐›๐ž๐ซ๐ญ was in charged of distributing more than 25 of the worldโ€™s leading goa/psy-labels exclusively in Scandinavia. He moved to Oslo, Norway and worked as CEO for a distribution company there until the big music-industry crash in 2001.

๐‘๐จ๐›๐ž๐ซ๐ญ took a 10 years โ€œbreakโ€ from the scene, meaning he wasnโ€™t active in it. But in 2010 his fingers started itchingโ€ฆ He started ๐‘†๐‘ก๐‘œ๐‘š๐‘ ๐‘ƒ๐‘Ÿ๐‘œ๐‘‘๐‘ข๐‘๐‘ก๐‘–๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘  and released the last ๐‘ซ๐’†๐’”๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’‚๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’ ๐‘ฎ๐’๐’‚ in 2012. Actually released 2012-12-12. After that he was part of ๐ž๐‹๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐Ÿ— with his friend ๐‘…๐‘–๐‘๐‘˜๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘‘ ๐‘†๐‘ฃ๐‘’๐‘›๐‘ ๐‘ ๐‘œ๐‘›. They released 2 EPs, mastered by ๐‘‚๐‘ฃ๐‘›๐‘–๐‘š๐‘œ๐‘œ๐‘› and released on ๐บ๐‘’๐‘œ๐‘š๐‘Ž๐‘”๐‘›๐‘’๐‘ก๐‘–๐‘, and they played a lot in Sweden for 2 years. With the โ€œfinalโ€ being as a warmup for ๐‘†โ„Ž๐‘๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘”๐‘™๐‘’ in Stockholm in 2015. During that time ๐‘๐จ๐›๐ž๐ซ๐ญ realized that he needed to make music on his own, itโ€™s his personal expression, and thatโ€™s where he is right now.

๐‘๐จ๐›๐ž๐ซ๐ญ has played in many countries and places, both live and as a DJ, mainly on smaller events since thatโ€™s where he likes it the best. ๐ผ๐‘ ๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž๐‘’๐‘™, ๐‘ˆ๐พ, ๐บ๐‘’๐‘Ÿ๐‘š๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘ฆ, ๐ด๐‘ข๐‘ ๐‘ก๐‘Ÿ๐‘–๐‘Ž, ๐‘๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ๐‘ค๐‘Ž๐‘ฆ, ๐น๐‘–๐‘›๐‘™๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘‘, ๐ท๐‘’๐‘›๐‘š๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘˜ to name a few and at the time he was also a resident DJ at 2 clubs in Stockholm.

His love for Goa stems from the fact that his father was from Turkey, so he has always loved the oriental touch in Goa and the melodies. He was from ๐Š๐š๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ž๐ซ๐ข and thatโ€™s why ๐‘๐จ๐›๐ž๐ซ๐ญ used that alias as well, to honor him and his heritage.

Even though he has played a lot and all over thru the years, his history and part in the Goatrance scene have mainly been behind the scenes with ๐‘ซ๐’†๐’”๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’‚๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’ ๐‘ฎ๐’๐’‚, distribution of labels, organizing events and so onโ€ฆ And the ๐๐ก๐จ๐ž๐ง๐ข๐ฑ and ๐Š๐š๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ž๐ซ๐ข music was only released on the DG-compilations but still to this day Robert gets e-mails and comments from people discovering, enjoying and loving those old tracks. It truly warms his heart.

In the future ๐‘๐จ๐›๐ž๐ซ๐ญ wants to focus a bit more on being in front โ€˜cause he LOVES being on stage, smiling, dancing together with everyone else!

Today he has new tracks in the making and his old tracks from ๐๐ก๐จ๐ž๐ง๐ข๐ฑ and ๐Š๐š๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ž๐ซ๐ข will be remastered and released during 2023, but he canโ€™t tell which label yet since itโ€™s not official.

He now also runs โ€œ๐‘บ๐’•๐’‚๐’“๐’ˆ๐’‚๐’•๐’† ๐‘ท๐’“๐’๐’…๐’–๐’„๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’๐’”โ€, an event organizer where they focus on creating retro-events, both when it comes to the music but also the atmosphere. Their next event is in ๐ถ๐‘œ๐‘๐‘’๐‘›โ„Ž๐‘Ž๐‘”๐‘’๐‘› in May starring ๐‘‚๐‘Ÿ๐‘–๐‘œ๐‘›, ๐พ๐‘œ๐‘ฅ๐‘๐‘œ๐‘ฅ, ๐ด๐‘ ๐‘ก๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž๐‘™ ๐‘ƒ๐‘Ÿ๐‘œ๐‘—๐‘’๐‘๐‘ก๐‘–๐‘œ๐‘›, ๐‘‡๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘ ๐‘ค๐‘Ž๐‘ฃ๐‘’, ๐น๐‘–๐‘™๐‘ก๐‘’๐‘Ÿ๐‘–๐‘Ž, ๐‘ƒ๐‘ ๐‘ฆ๐‘โ„Ž๐‘Ž๐‘œ๐‘ , ๐ด๐‘ ๐‘ก๐‘Ÿ๐‘œ-๐ท, ๐‘…๐‘œ๐‘๐‘’๐‘Ÿ๐‘ก ๐‘Ž๐‘  ๐‘ƒโ„Ž๐‘œ๐‘’๐‘›๐‘–๐‘ฅ and many more.
