๐ˆ๐€๐ˆ๐ ๐‘๐ˆ๐•๐„ is based in Brighton, England.

A composer, record producer and mix engineer who is a founder member of three pioneering Goa Trance acts - ๐”๐๐ˆ๐•๐„๐‘๐’๐€๐‹ ๐’๐Ž๐”๐๐ƒ, ๐‚๐˜๐ƒ๐Ž๐๐ˆ๐€ and ๐’๐„๐Œ๐’๐ˆ๐’, and also creator of the legendary London electronic music studio ๐’๐„๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘, where numerous ground breaking early Goa trance records were written and produced through the 1990s.

Growing up in the ๐ผ๐‘ ๐‘™๐‘’ ๐‘œ๐‘“ ๐‘€๐‘Ž๐‘› in the 1970s he was drawn towards the punk and alternative music movement after listening to ๐ฝ๐‘œโ„Ž๐‘› ๐‘ƒ๐‘’๐‘’๐‘™, and after meeting like minded kids at senior school he found bass guitar was his instrument of choice.

With a group of school friends he formed a band called '๐‘จ๐’ˆ๐’๐’๐’š ๐‘ซ๐’‚๐’๐’„๐’Š๐’๐’ˆโ€™, and borrowing a ๐‘€๐‘œ๐‘œ๐‘” ๐‘ƒ๐‘Ÿ๐‘œ๐‘‘๐‘–๐‘”๐‘ฆ and ๐‘…๐‘œ๐‘™๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘‘ ๐‘‡๐‘… 606 drum machine from school during the summer holidays, this was where ๐ˆ๐š๐ข๐งโ€™s passion for home recording and using electronic musical instruments started to grow.

Moving to ๐ฟ๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘‘๐‘œ๐‘› with his mate ๐‘น๐’๐’ˆ๐’†๐’“ ๐‘ณ๐’†๐’†๐’„๐’† - a dynamic, driven drummer - in the late summer of 1986, he initially went to study bass guitar part time at ๐บ๐‘œ๐‘™๐‘‘๐‘ ๐‘š๐‘–๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘  ๐ถ๐‘œ๐‘™๐‘™๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ๐‘”๐‘’.

Doing as many courses as he could - general musicianship, rhythm musicianship - basically as many as were on offer, but one course in particular stood out.

This was computer based writing and arranging, and he fell in love with the idea of software sequencers.

By 1988, after working part time selling sandwiches up in the city, he managed to save enough money to buy an ๐ด๐‘ก๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘– 1040๐‘ ๐‘ก with ๐ถ-๐ฟ๐‘Ž๐‘ ๐‘๐‘œ๐‘ก๐‘Ž๐‘ก๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ, and a very early sampler, an ๐‘‚๐‘๐‘’๐‘Ÿโ„Ž๐‘–๐‘’๐‘š ๐‘ƒ๐‘Ÿ๐‘œ๐‘š๐‘š๐‘’๐‘Ÿ. This was the birth of ๐’๐„๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘.

๐ˆ๐š๐ข๐ง continued studying at ๐บ๐‘œ๐‘™๐‘‘๐‘ ๐‘š๐‘–๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘  for the next couple of years, being accepted on the very first Jazz and popular music degree in the country, he was also playing in various bands with ๐‘…๐‘œ๐‘” around ๐‘†๐‘œ๐‘ข๐‘กโ„Ž ๐ธ๐‘Ž๐‘ ๐‘ก ๐ฟ๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘‘๐‘œ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ, playing and exploring electronic based music with the band ๐๐’๐€, who were his ex ๐ด๐‘”๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘ฆ ๐ท๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘๐‘–๐‘›๐‘” schoolmates. They had also left the island the year after him, and were living in ๐‘Š๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘ก ๐ฟ๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘‘๐‘œ๐‘›.

By this time the studio had grown, with more equipment and a sound system acquired from the ๐ผ๐‘ ๐‘™๐‘’ ๐‘œ๐‘“ ๐‘€๐‘Ž๐‘› he started putting on squat parties.

At first these always involved bands, but slowly and surely the music gravitated towards the alternative electronic/dance music scene.

By 1990/1991, part of the ๐‘€๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘ฅ ๐‘๐‘Ÿ๐‘’๐‘ค were squatting in ๐ฟ๐‘Ž๐‘‘๐‘๐‘Ÿ๐‘œ๐‘˜๐‘’ ๐บ๐‘Ÿ๐‘œ๐‘ฃ๐‘’, and every time the squat got closed they would get the sound system out and party.

One old friend, in particular ๐ป๐‘ข๐‘”๐‘”๐‘ฆ - who had just a sampler, a ๐‘…๐‘œ๐‘™๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘‘ ๐‘†๐ป101, and an ๐ด๐‘™๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘–๐‘  ๐‘€๐‘€๐‘‡8 hardware sequencer, finished one of these parties off with a hardcore improvised techno set that blew the roof off the place!

By the summer of โ€™92, the West London posse managed to squat an old army barracks/mental asylum under the ๐‘Š๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘ก๐‘ค๐‘Ž๐‘ฆ that his old mate ๐ท๐‘œ๐‘ข๐‘” ๐น๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘๐‘–๐‘ ๐‘๐‘œ turned it into a community art project, called ๐‘จ๐’“๐’•๐’”๐’‘๐’‚๐’„๐’† ๐‘ณ๐’Š๐’‡๐’†๐’”๐’‘๐’‚๐’„๐’†, (which is still going to this day in ๐ต๐‘Ÿ๐‘–๐‘ ๐‘ก๐‘œ๐‘™).

The plan was to do a massive party there, because they finally had the space.

Word got around, and out of the blue one afternoon a shifty group of individuals all with shaved heads turned up in the courtyard asking about the space and whether they could do a party there.

They turned out to be the renegade sound system and free party pioneers ๐’๐ฉ๐ข๐ซ๐š๐ฅ ๐“๐ซ๐ข๐›๐ž.

The crew decided to share an event with them.

It was a massive success, ๐ˆ๐š๐ข๐ง ran the system and the ๐’๐ฉ๐ข๐ซ๐š๐ฅ's were shown what was possible with an improvised live Techno set.

That was it, the two crews came together.

๐ˆ๐š๐ข๐ง was given the role of rebuilding ๐’๐ฉ๐ข๐ซ๐š๐ฅโ€™s sound system which had been impounded by the police after the legendary ๐ถ๐‘Ž๐‘ ๐‘ก๐‘™๐‘’๐‘š๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ๐‘ก๐‘’๐‘› ๐‘“๐‘Ÿ๐‘’๐‘’ ๐‘๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘ก๐‘ฆ that had happened in the May of that year.

Ironically ๐’๐ฉ๐ข๐ซ๐š๐ฅ ๐“๐ซ๐ข๐›๐ž had just signed a record deal with ๐ต๐‘–๐‘” ๐ฟ๐‘–๐‘“๐‘’ (who oversaw ๐‘Œ๐‘œ๐‘ข๐‘กโ„Žโ€™s ๐‘ซ๐’“๐’‚๐’ˆ๐’๐’๐’‡๐’๐’š Label). They had just got the advance and straight away decided to head to ๐ท๐‘ข๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ๐‘™๐‘–๐‘› to do a free party on top of a hill overlooking the city in a place called the ๐‘ฏ๐’†๐’๐’๐’‡๐’Š๐’“๐’† ๐‘ช๐’๐’–๐’ƒ - again the party was a great success.

๐ˆ๐š๐ข๐ง ran the sound system, and for the first time in ๐’๐ฉ๐ข๐ซ๐š๐ฅโ€™s history the system didnโ€™t cut out once throughout the whole night.

That was it, ๐ˆ๐š๐ข๐ง dropped out of college and ran that sound system, doing live techno sets with ๐ป๐‘ข๐‘”๐‘”๐‘ฆ and his mate ๐ฝ who now went under the name ๐๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐”๐ง๐ค๐ง๐จ๐ฐ๐ง and ๐’๐ฉ๐ข๐ซ๐š๐ฅ๐ฌ. They did this for the rest of '92 until it was decided to leave the Sound System in Paris after doing a party that Christmas with the European branch of Spiral Tribe, who had left the country after Castlemorten.

So as 1993 rolled in and ๐ˆ๐š๐ข๐ง was left at a loose end, out of nowhere he met a guy called ๐‘†๐‘ก๐‘’๐‘ฃ๐‘’ ๐‘‡๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘”๐‘’๐‘ก๐‘ก through a mutual friend.

This fortuitous meeting would end up changing ๐ˆ๐š๐ข๐งโ€™s life forever.

๐‘†๐‘ก๐‘’๐‘ฃ๐‘’ had just come back from Goa, where he had met ๐‘Œ๐‘œ๐‘ข๐‘กโ„Ž, owner of the newly formed ๐ท๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž๐‘”๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘“๐‘™๐‘ฆ ๐‘…๐‘’๐‘๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ๐‘‘๐‘ .

๐‘‡๐‘–๐‘š ๐‘ƒ๐‘Ž๐‘™๐‘š๐‘’๐‘Ÿ, owner of ๐‘‹๐ฟ ๐‘…๐‘’๐‘๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ๐‘‘๐‘  and a lot of the people involved in that very early scene at the time said - โ€œ๐˜บ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ท๐˜ฆ ๐˜ข ๐˜ด๐˜ต๐˜ถ๐˜ฅ๐˜ช๐˜ฐ ๐˜๐˜ข๐˜ช๐˜ฏ, ๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ด๐˜ต๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ ๐˜ต๐˜ฐ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ช๐˜ด ๐˜ฎ๐˜ถ๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜ค ๐˜ช๐˜ตโ€™๐˜ด ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ง๐˜ถ๐˜ต๐˜ถ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆโ€.

๐‘†๐‘ก๐‘’๐‘ฃ๐‘’โ€™s idea was to bring a collection of musicians together to make a Goa trance album and release it with ๐‘‡๐‘–๐‘š ๐‘ƒ๐‘Ž๐‘™๐‘š๐‘’๐‘Ÿ on a new sub label of XL called ๐‘ช๐’๐’๐’„๐’†๐’‘๐’• ๐‘ฐ๐’ ๐‘ซ๐’‚๐’๐’„๐’†.

He introduced ๐ˆ๐š๐ข๐ง to ๐ฝ๐‘Ž๐‘ ๐‘œ๐‘› ๐ฟ๐‘Ž๐‘˜๐‘’, ๐‘ƒ๐‘Ž๐‘ข๐‘™ ๐ฝ๐‘Ž๐‘๐‘˜๐‘ ๐‘œ๐‘›, ๐‘€๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘ก๐‘–๐‘› ๐น๐‘Ÿ๐‘’๐‘’๐‘™๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘‘, and the Brighton crew, ๐ท๐‘–๐‘›๐‘œ ๐‘ƒ๐‘ ๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž๐‘ , ๐‘†๐‘ก๐‘’๐‘ฃ๐‘’ ๐‘…๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘Ž๐‘› and ๐ฝ๐‘œ๐‘ก๐‘– ๐‘†๐‘–๐‘‘โ„Ž๐‘ข, and together over the next year they produced what would become ๐ƒ๐ข๐ ๐ข๐ญ๐š๐ฅ ๐€๐ฅ๐œ๐ก๐ž๐ฆ๐ฒ, ๐ถ๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘๐‘’๐‘๐‘ก ๐ผ๐‘› ๐ท๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘๐‘’โ€™s first release.

๐‰๐š๐ฌ๐จ๐ง ๐‹๐š๐ค๐ž and ๐ˆ๐š๐ข๐ง ๐‘๐ข๐ฏ๐ž became ๐”๐๐ˆ๐•๐„๐‘๐’๐€๐‹ ๐’๐Ž๐”๐๐ƒ, ๐ˆ๐š๐ข๐ง and ๐๐š๐ฎ๐ฅ ๐‰๐š๐œ๐ค๐ฌ๐จ๐ง worked on various projects. ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐ง ๐…๐ซ๐ž๐ž๐ฅ๐š๐ง๐ would come over and work there.

๐’๐„๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘ became a hub of pioneering Goa Trance activity. Classic tracks such as '๐‘บ๐’–๐’ˆ๐’‚๐’“ ๐‘น๐’–๐’”๐’‰' by ๐‘ด๐’‚๐’ ๐‘พ๐’Š๐’•๐’‰ ๐‘ต๐’ ๐‘ต๐’‚๐’Ž๐’† were written there!

The live element was always a massive factor in ๐ˆ๐š๐ข๐งโ€™s approach to making music... In the spring of '94 ๐ฝ๐‘Ž๐‘ ๐‘œ๐‘› arrived back at ๐’๐„๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘ one afternoon after accidentally ending up at a meeting at ๐‘ฏ๐’†๐’‚๐’—๐’†๐’ ๐‘ต๐’Š๐’ˆ๐’‰๐’•๐’„๐’๐’–๐’ƒ with ๐‘ป๐’‰๐’† ๐‘ด๐’†๐’ˆ๐’‚๐’•๐’“๐’Š๐’‘๐’๐’๐’Š๐’” party organizers. They were organizing a tour across America that summer and ๐ฝ๐‘Ž๐‘ ๐‘œ๐‘› volunteered ๐”๐๐ˆ๐•๐„๐‘๐’๐€๐‹ ๐’๐Ž๐”๐๐ƒ to come and play live on the ๐‘ป๐’‰๐’† ๐’๐’Š๐’‘๐’‘๐’š ๐‘ท๐’“๐’๐’๐’๐’Š๐’‚ ๐’•๐’๐’–๐’“ to the USA โ€™94 (which actually made the front cover of ๐‘Š๐‘–๐‘Ÿ๐‘’๐‘‘ ๐‘€๐‘Ž๐‘”๐‘Ž๐‘ง๐‘–๐‘›๐‘’).

So in June of that year after putting a live set together and adding an extra member ๐ƒ๐š๐ง ๐–๐จ๐๐š, they borrowed the money for flights from friends ๐ฝ๐‘–๐‘š๐‘š๐‘ฆ and ๐ถ๐‘Ÿ๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘ ๐‘–๐‘‘๐‘Ž of KLF fame.

This was lent to them under the premise that if they did not get the money back to them in time, Jimmy was going to blow up ๐’๐„๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘'s Synthesizers on the 21st June, Summer Solstice..!! Thank goodness with the help of ๐ˆ๐š๐ข๐งโ€™s then girlfriend Bev they managed to get it together before the ill fated day...

So with flights booked, and equipped with an ๐ด๐‘™๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘–๐‘  ๐‘€๐‘€๐‘‡8 sequencer, a ๐‘…๐‘œ๐‘™๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘‘ ๐‘†๐ป 101, an ๐ด๐‘˜๐‘Ž๐‘– ๐‘†2800 sampler, a ๐‘Œ๐‘Ž๐‘š๐‘Žโ„Ž๐‘Ž ๐น๐‘‹500 and a mixer, they headed off to New York on what would become a crazy three months. Fourteen people driving from the Big Apple to San Diego, ๐”๐๐ˆ๐•๐„๐‘๐’๐€๐‹ ๐’๐Ž๐”๐๐ƒ doing live Goa Trance - a first - playing various crazy parties along the way, such as highjacking the end of ๐พ๐‘’๐‘› ๐พ๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘’๐‘ฆโ€™s '๐™๐™ฌ๐™ž๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™š๐™ง' play which was ending itโ€™s tour at the ๐˜ฝ๐™ค๐™ช๐™ก๐™™๐™š๐™ง ๐™๐™๐™š๐™–๐™ฉ๐™ง๐™š on Independence Day.

The event was part of a tribute to ๐ด๐‘™๐‘Ž๐‘› ๐บ๐‘–๐‘›๐‘ ๐‘๐‘’๐‘Ÿ๐‘” (who did attend) organized by the ๐‘๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘œ๐‘๐‘Ž ๐‘ˆ๐‘›๐‘–๐‘ฃ๐‘’๐‘Ÿ๐‘ ๐‘–๐‘ก๐‘ฆ. ๐”๐๐ˆ๐•๐„๐‘๐’๐€๐‹ ๐’๐Ž๐”๐๐ƒ were set up at the front of house and after the play had finished it was tradition that the house band would knock a few tunes out and the audience would get up on the stage and dance.

๐ท๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘š๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘‘๐‘œ, one of the Zippies - got on the mic and announced that โ€œ๐˜ช๐˜ต ๐˜ธ๐˜ข๐˜ด ๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ง๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ ๐˜ข ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ๐˜ธ ๐˜ฃ๐˜ฆ๐˜จ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ฏ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ, ๐˜ช๐˜ต'๐˜ด ๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ง๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ ๐˜œ๐˜ฏ๐˜ช๐˜ท๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ด๐˜ข๐˜ญ ๐˜š๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅโ€. ๐ˆ๐š๐ข๐ง faded out the house band and ๐”๐๐ˆ๐•๐„๐‘๐’๐€๐‹ ๐’๐Ž๐”๐๐ƒ dropped โ€˜๐‘บ๐’•๐’๐’“๐’Žโ€™ from Digital Alchemy and the place went crazy - the stage was rocking, they only managed to play three tracks before the security said enough was enough.. so the Zippies attempted to persuade ๐พ๐‘’๐‘› ๐พ๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘’๐‘ฆ to come along for the rest of the tour, but he said his time was done, and it was the Zippies turn to carry the torch.

Next stop on the tour was the ๐™๐™–๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™—๐™ค๐™ฌ ๐™‚๐™–๐™ฉ๐™๐™š๐™ง๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ up in the mountains in ๐‘Œ๐‘’๐‘™๐‘™๐‘œ๐‘ค๐‘†๐‘ก๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘’ ๐‘๐‘Ž๐‘ก๐‘–๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘Ž๐‘™ ๐‘ƒ๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘˜ ๐‘Š๐‘ฆ๐‘œ๐‘š๐‘–๐‘›๐‘”, it was so high up in the wilderness it was snowing when they got out of the van, in July..! ๐”๐๐ˆ๐•๐„๐‘๐’๐€๐‹ ๐’๐Ž๐”๐๐ƒ, using a generator, played the first electronic set ever at a Rainbow gathering.

As an aside, the whole of this tour had a virtual tour running in parallel on the ๐‘Š๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ๐‘™๐‘‘ ๐‘Š๐‘–๐‘‘๐‘’ ๐‘Š๐‘’๐‘. Remember this is 1994, the first ever of its kind!

By September they reached San Diego and the tour came to an end so ๐”๐๐ˆ๐•๐„๐‘๐’๐€๐‹ ๐’๐Ž๐”๐๐ƒ headed back to ๐’๐„๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘ to regroup.

Once back in London ๐”๐๐ˆ๐•๐„๐‘๐’๐€๐‹ ๐’๐Ž๐”๐๐ƒ continued to write music for the second ๐ถ๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘๐‘’๐‘๐‘ก ๐ผ๐‘› ๐ท๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘๐‘’ album and thanks to ๐‘Œ๐‘œ๐‘ข๐‘กโ„Ž spent some more time at ๐ท๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž๐‘”๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘“๐‘™๐‘ฆ ๐‘†๐‘ก๐‘ข๐‘‘๐‘–๐‘œ๐‘  in ๐ต๐‘Ÿ๐‘–๐‘ฅ๐‘ก๐‘œ๐‘›, where the track '๐‘จ๐’”๐’•๐’†๐’“๐’๐’Š๐’…๐’”' was written.

They also started doing gigs in England and through Europe playing shows as big as ๐™๐™š๐™ฉ๐™ช๐™ง๐™ฃ ๐™๐™ค ๐™๐™๐™š ๐™Ž๐™ค๐™ช๐™ง๐™˜๐™š at ๐ต๐‘Ÿ๐‘–๐‘ฅ๐‘ก๐‘œ๐‘› ๐ด๐‘๐‘Ž๐‘‘๐‘’๐‘š๐‘ฆ for the '๐ถโ„Ž๐‘Ž๐‘˜๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž ๐ฝ๐‘œ๐‘ข๐‘Ÿ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ๐‘’๐‘ฆ' launch party.

It was around this time ๐ƒ๐ข๐ง๐จ ๐๐ฌ๐š๐ซ๐š๐ฌ and ๐’๐ญ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž ๐‘๐จ๐ง๐š๐ง signed to ๐ต๐‘™๐‘ข๐‘’ ๐‘…๐‘œ๐‘œ๐‘š ๐‘…๐‘’๐‘๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ๐‘‘๐‘  and asked ๐ˆ๐š๐ข๐ง if he would join ๐‚๐˜๐ƒ๐Ž๐๐ˆ๐€.

The whole of the advance from the deal was spent on musical equipment, and ๐’๐„๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘ became a cutting edge electronic studio.

The studio was built around 2 ๐ท๐‘–๐‘”๐‘–๐‘ก๐‘Ž๐‘™ ๐‘Œ๐‘Ž๐‘š๐‘Žโ„Ž๐‘Ž ๐‘‚1๐‘‰ mixers with total recall which could be flight-cased up with the rest of the studio and taken out to do gigs.

So then over the next two years, ๐‚๐˜๐ƒ๐Ž๐๐ˆ๐€ embarked on writing what would become the album '๐‘ฐ๐’ ๐‘ญ๐’†๐’‚๐’“ ๐‘ถ๐’‡ ๐‘จ ๐‘น๐’†๐’… ๐‘ท๐’๐’‚๐’๐’†๐’•'. It was also around this time ๐ˆ๐š๐ข๐ง met ๐๐ข๐œ๐ค ๐’๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ก and ๐’๐„๐Œ๐’๐ˆ๐’ was formed.

There were now three bands working out of the studio, and with this studio and live set up ๐’๐„๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘ could have done whole nights with three bands playing live, which was ๐ˆ๐š๐ข๐งโ€™s original idea but unfortunately something had to give as everybody was trying to get in the studio at the same time.

Sadly ๐”๐๐ˆ๐•๐„๐‘๐’๐€๐‹ ๐’๐Ž๐”๐๐ƒ split due to the pressure, so the idea of ๐’๐„๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘ events never happened, but the split did lead to quite a number of ๐”๐๐ˆ๐•๐„๐‘๐’๐€๐‹ ๐’๐Ž๐”๐๐ƒ tracks never seeing the light of day, until now, when Iain was asked to do this radio mix for ๐™Š๐™ก๐™™ ๐˜ฟ๐™ค๐™œ๐™จ-๐™‰๐™š๐™ฌ ๐™๐™ง๐™ž๐™˜๐™ ๐™จ.

Four of the tracks appear in this mix.

Over the next three years, ๐‚๐˜๐ƒ๐Ž๐๐ˆ๐€ and ๐’๐„๐Œ๐’๐ˆ๐’ released a number of tracks on classic labels - ๐ต๐‘™๐‘ข๐‘’ ๐‘…๐‘œ๐‘œ๐‘š, ๐ท๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž๐‘”๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘“๐‘™๐‘ฆ, ๐ท๐‘–๐‘ ๐‘ก๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘๐‘’, ๐‘ƒโ„Ž๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘ก๐‘Ž๐‘ ๐‘š, ๐พ๐‘œ๐‘ฆ๐‘œ๐‘ก๐‘’ to name a few, touring all over the world, playing live sets to grateful audiences before ๐๐ข๐œ๐ค and ๐ˆ๐š๐ข๐ง decided to take a break from ๐’๐„๐Œ๐’๐ˆ๐’ , and ๐๐ข๐œ๐ค left to build his own studio in Brighton, leaving just ๐‚๐˜๐ƒ๐Ž๐๐ˆ๐€ to finish off the album in ๐’๐„๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘.

In late โ€™98 ๐’๐„๐Œ๐’๐ˆ๐’ decided to regroup down at ๐๐ข๐œ๐คโ€™s new studio in Brighton, where he had installed ๐ฝ๐‘ข๐‘›๐‘œ ๐‘…๐‘’๐‘Ž๐‘๐‘ก๐‘œ๐‘Ÿโ€™s old DDA desk to embark on writing an album. Over the next year and a half, ๐ˆ๐š๐ข๐ง commuted down from London to co-create the record '๐‘ณ๐’†๐’•๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ ๐‘ฎ๐’', which was released on the newly formed Brighton label ๐ด๐‘ก๐‘œ๐‘š๐‘–๐‘ ๐‘…๐‘’๐‘๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ๐‘‘๐‘ , in 2000.

By this time ๐ƒ๐ข๐ง๐จ and ๐’๐ญ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž had become tired of commuting to London to work and it was mutually agreed it was time to finally move the studio down to Brighton.

This was the end for ๐’๐„๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘, and all further releases from '99 onwards were all produced down on the ๐‘†๐‘œ๐‘ข๐‘กโ„Ž ๐ถ๐‘œ๐‘Ž๐‘ ๐‘ก ๐‘œ๐‘“ ๐ธ๐‘›๐‘”๐‘™๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘‘.

This mix is a tribute to the ๐’๐„๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘ years selecting tracks close to ๐ˆ๐š๐ข๐ง's heart, produced from 1993-1999 from all three bands.

The mix starts with '๐‘น๐’Š๐’”๐’†', the first ever Goa track that ๐ˆ๐š๐ข๐ง produced with ๐‰๐š๐ฌ๐จ๐ง at Dragonfly in the winter of '93, which was never released and as mentioned earlier there are a number of ๐”๐๐ˆ๐•๐„๐‘๐’๐€๐‹ ๐’๐Ž๐”๐๐ƒ tracks included in the mix that never saw the light of day, in amongst those, ๐ˆ๐š๐ข๐ง has raided his DAT collection and unearthed early ๐‚๐˜๐ƒ๐Ž๐๐ˆ๐€ mixes of '๐‘ญ๐’“๐’†๐’‚๐’Œ ๐‘บ๐’‰๐’๐’˜', and '๐‘บ๐’‰๐’‚๐’‘๐’† ๐‘ถ๐’‡ ๐‘ป๐’‰๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ๐’”' to come.

Also included is the first ever ๐’๐„๐Œ๐’๐ˆ๐’ track written with ๐ƒ๐š๐ง ๐–๐จ๐๐š, and an early DAT mix of ๐’๐„๐Œ๐’๐ˆ๐’โ€™ โ€˜๐‘บ๐’†๐’Ž๐’”๐’Š๐’”โ€™.

Forward to 2016 and ๐ˆ๐š๐ข๐ง dusted off all the original ๐’๐„๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘ equipment, an old ๐ด๐‘ก๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘– 1040๐‘ ๐‘ก, the first ๐’๐„๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘ ๐ด๐‘๐‘๐‘™๐‘’ ๐‘€๐‘Ž๐‘ and dug out all of the old floppy disks and samples and sysex dumps of the synths used on the original recordings and embarked on rerecording five classic tracks from each band with a view after fifteen years, to get back out and play live, playing these re-imagined tunes, re-done with a modern twist, playing gigs in ๐ด๐‘š๐‘’๐‘Ÿ๐‘–๐‘๐‘Ž, ๐บ๐‘Ÿ๐‘’๐‘’๐‘๐‘’, ๐ต๐‘’๐‘™๐‘”๐‘–๐‘ข๐‘š, ๐‘…๐‘œ๐‘š๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘–๐‘Ž, ๐‘†๐‘’๐‘Ÿ๐‘๐‘–๐‘Ž and ๐ผ๐‘ ๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž๐‘’๐‘™...

Three of these new mixes are also included in the mix - the ๐‚๐˜๐ƒ๐Ž๐๐ˆ๐€ tracks - '๐‘ด๐’Š๐’๐’…๐’‰๐’–๐’๐’•๐’†๐’“', '๐‘ช๐’๐’๐’๐’Ž๐’ƒ๐’Š๐’‚๐’ ๐‘ต๐’†๐’„๐’Œ๐‘ป๐’Š๐’†', and a re-working of '๐‘จ๐’๐’Š๐’Ž๐’‚๐’๐’”', which is a fusion of re-written parts from the original ๐‘€๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘ก๐‘–๐‘› ๐น๐‘Ÿ๐‘’๐‘’๐‘™๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘‘ ๐‘ฃ๐‘’๐‘Ÿ๐‘ ๐‘–๐‘œ๐‘› and the ๐ถ๐‘ฆ๐‘‘๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘–๐‘Ž ๐‘†๐ธ23 ๐ด๐‘™๐‘๐‘ข๐‘š ๐‘ฃ๐‘’๐‘Ÿ๐‘ ๐‘–๐‘œ๐‘›.

So there you have it, a bit of history and tribute to the crazy years that were ๐’๐„๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘, we hope you enjoy.....

In 1999 he made his first steps into music production, and the next year he formed ๐Œ๐š๐ ๐ง๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐ค.

๐Œ๐š๐ ๐ง๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐ค is an ambient/chill out based project, influenced by such music luminaries as ๐‘‰๐‘Ž๐‘›๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ๐‘’๐‘™๐‘–๐‘ , ๐ฝ๐‘’๐‘Ž๐‘› ๐‘€๐‘–๐‘โ„Ž๐‘’๐‘™ ๐ฝ๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ÿ๐‘’, ๐พ๐‘™๐‘Ž๐‘ข๐‘  ๐‘†๐‘โ„Ž๐‘ข๐‘™๐‘ง๐‘’, ๐ป๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘  ๐‘๐‘–๐‘š๐‘š๐‘’๐‘Ÿ... These influences resonate in ๐…๐ˆ๐‹๐ˆ๐'s music, with a huge mark. ๐Œ๐š๐ ๐ง๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐ค debut album '๐‘ท๐’๐’“๐’•๐’“๐’‚๐’Š๐’•๐’”' was released by ๐‘‡๐‘Ž๐‘๐‘ก๐‘Ž๐‘™ ๐ป๐‘œ๐‘ก๐‘  ๐‘€๐‘ข๐‘ ๐‘–๐‘ in 2011.

Since then, ๐…๐ˆ๐‹๐ˆ๐ released a lot of EPs and Remixes, most of them for ๐ถ๐‘œ๐‘ ๐‘š๐‘–๐‘๐‘™๐‘’๐‘Ž๐‘“ ๐‘…๐‘’๐‘๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ๐‘‘๐‘ . Styles oscillate from beatless and ethno influenced moods to downtempo, slow trance alike music.

His music sets oscillate between Ambient / DownTempo / Breaks / Progressive House / Trance and Goa Trance. His set for the 'Dogs' is a retro Goa Trance set.

๐…๐ˆ๐‹๐ˆ๐ is also organizing monthly the "๐‘น๐’†๐’•๐’“๐’ ๐‘ป๐’“๐’‚๐’๐’„๐’†" events in Belgrade, in collaboration with ๐‘ด๐’‚๐’“๐’Œ๐’ ๐‘ท๐’‚๐’๐’Š๐’„ฬ and ๐‘ฝ๐’†๐’๐’Š๐’Ž๐’Š๐’“ ๐‘ด๐’Š๐’„ฬ๐’๐’—๐’Š๐’„ฬ.
