Xavier Morel: "The most important concept in music is not the way you play your tracks but the story you make with them!"
Wednesday 14/10, 22:00 gr 20:00 uk @ Old Dogs New Tricks
Xavier Morel's love of electronic music started on a faithful day in 1976 when he went with his family to a Winter Amusement Fair and won a prize at the lottery. It was the KRAFTWERK/RADIO ACTIVITY single.
12 years later he started his career by mixing at several underground parties in the suburbs of London for about two years, when one day he decided to go traveling. Amazingly he found his way onto a billing at Kho Phangan's infamous New Years eve parties.
Soon after this he made his way to Japan and became resident DJ every weekend at Razzle Dazzle, starting his profesionnal carrier as an international DJ. Since then Xavier has toured his sound all around Europe, Asia, Australia, USA and South America and he has developed an extensive knowledge and a genuine technique that makes his mixing very special.
In 1994 he worked as a Label Manager with Simon Gahary (Blue Room A&R) and for Sony Music France.
Since 1995, Xavier Morel has produced several tracks on various projects, mainly with Juno Reactor (from 1996 to 2008), Prime Suspect, Section X, Eat Static, Fuel, Carcharodon Megalodon.
Xavier has also been responsible for developing a techno branch for the Solstice Music International.
He has started his own vinyl label called RASPUTIN RECORDS together with his friends Igor and Nico (from Fugu San/Topplers distribution France) and has been release some high quality techno tracks from DJ Hell, Johannes Heil, Thomas P. Heckmann to Sebastian R. Komor and Virgil Enzinger.
He has also done a DJ mixed compilation for the Japanese ARIGHT RECORDS/Horizon (released on Nov 2006) called MODE-S.
In late '00s all his effort and studio work went into a collaboration project called VX with Virgil Enzinger from Salburg, Austria. In 2009 VX debuted their first album 'VX-Fiction' on the German label Nachtstrom Schallplatten and has seen success with the likes of Speedy-J, Dave Clarke, The Advent, Eric Sneo, Felix Krocher, Arne (aka Extrawelt) etc. praising their releases.
Xavier Morel sums up his style best: "The most important concept in music is not the way you play your tracks but the story you make with them! Mixing and music is my passion and my career. I hope to carry and share this as long as possible!"
